About Project

Education is one of the most perspective fields of life. The contemporary educational trends, as a response to the larger socio-economic changes and the fast technological development, provide the opportunity for changes in the educational practices of the kindergarten pre-school classroom as the core of the organized learning at the earliest age. The purpose of these changes is to establish a process of continuous advancement to the quality of pre-school education. Pre-school education staff plays an important part in raising healthy generations.

CHILD recognizes that excellence in preschool education requires the corresponding training for gaining skills and practical resources to apply them, and as such its main objective is to provide the above to pre-school educators. The aim is to train pre-school staff in open education, social engagement, professional development, ethics, and impact. In regards to the sectoral priority of “Developing high-quality early childhood education and care systems”, the primary aim of CHILD is to develop and reinforce a network of excellence in pre-school education which will increase the institutional capacity for a professional, high-quality, effective and needsbased child care service to operate at transnational level and foster regional integration and cooperation.

This refers to:
Fostering regional integration and cooperation across different regions through joint initiatives, sharing of best practices and cooperation
Sustainable technology investment, quality, transparency, and efficiency of pre-school education
Building inclusive pre-school education systems

Concerning the “Addressing digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity” horizontal priority, CHILD is in line with the European Framework for Digitally Competent Educational Organizations and in particular with the necessity to update and develop digital teaching materials and tools, open educational resources(OER), open textbooks and Open Source educational software.

CHILD produces a Web-based digital environment in PR3, digital resources for teaching (PR2 – educative digital library)
and a handbook in DAP (PR1). All the outputs developed within the project will be accessible through an open education resource. In this way, we enhance the demand for priority for Innovative practices in a digital era needed to spread knowledge and improve the competences of pre-school staff.

CHILD aims to merge several concepts in an innovative and attractive educational project that will extend beneficiaries’ competencies in non-formal and informal contexts when working with children and establishing solid relations with parents.

Finally, regarding the “Supporting teachers, school leaders and other teaching professions” priority, the project, through the transnational webinar activities will allow preschool staff from different backgrounds to share their experiences and practices, and to create a stable and continuous path of mobility between one or more countries, encouraging in this way collaboration and exchange between them.

The project also provides synergistic activities carried out by universities, thus generating added value given by the union of education, development, and innovation. In order to foster employability, socio-educational and personal development of staff in the field of pre-school services, in a fast-changing funding landscape, CHILD will include actions to support work-based learning; improve the quality and effectiveness of learning mobility experiences in preschool education and promote interdisciplinary co-operation in science. This includes communication skills, critical thinking, creativity and forward-looking skills in fields that are strategic for smart educational development.
